This home in Stratford Connecticut was eagerly anticipating the installation of a solar panel system to assist in cutting down electricity cost. Upon inspection however, it was realized that they had three layers of roofing material on the home!
We quickly formulated a game plan to manage the large amount of waste that would be produced from the removal of the existing roofing materials. Once stripped we quickly cleaned up to avoid missing any debris in the dark. After removing the existing two layers of asphalt roofing and one layer of cedar shakes, we installed all new plywood decking to the home. We then installed ice and water barrier to all the areas of the roof that were having solar panels installed because it's a water proof self-sealing membrane to prevent any leaking after panels are installed. Finally we began installing Owens Corning Sierra Grey shingles to complete the roofing system.
