At this colonial style home located in Greenwich, CT we completely stripped the existing roof and replaced it with a brand-new Owens Corning roof. Being a Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, we only use the best materials and quality workmanship. After we strippped the existing roof we replaced any damaged plywood decking. Then we laid Ice & Water shield to pretect the home from any outside moisture. For shingles, we installed Owens Corning Duration Shingles in Slatestone Gray. For added attic ventilation we topped it off with Owens Corning Ventsure Ridge Vents.

Here are some pictures of a job in Westport, CT that we just finished up. This roof was interesting because of a rubber porch roof that tied into the back of the main roof.
In the first image, you can see we started removing the old leaky roof with our roof to ground tarps set up. The second image shows where we installed the new rubber roof and our professional roofing crew tied the new Owens Corning True Definition Duration Shingles correctly to the home.
Here are before and after images of a home we roofed in Bethel CT in preparation for the installation of solar panels. As you can see the existing three tab shingles were old and brittle and would not accommodate the stress of having new solar panels installed. Fortunately when the home owners reached out to Millstream Construction we quickly replaced the needed roof areas with Owens Corning Quarry Grey Shingles that will last a lifetime.
The preferred choice. Asphalt shingles are the most commonly used residential roofing material.
Asphalt shingles are the most common roofing material for residential homes. This material offers a great blend of durability and affordability, with multiple styles and colors available to choose from. Modern technology has developed strong asphalt shingles than ever before, and most are reinforced with a fiberglass mat to prevent tearing. Asphalt shingles come in three tab and architectural:
As an added benefit, roof replacement and repair can be handled relatively easily with asphalt shingles. The roofing pros at Millstream Construction can help you decide what type of asphalt shingles are the best fit for your home depending on your needs and budget.
Unmatched beauty. Although there are some maintenance challenges, it's hard to beat the appearance of wood shingles.
If you're looking for a unique appearance for your home, wood shingles and shakes are a great option. Wood has a beautiful finished look as a roofing material and provides great durability. Wood shingles are cut with a saw and have a consistent thickness and shape, while wood shakes are split and are usually thicker and rougher. Either option can be used depending on the look you want to achieve and the style of your home.
Wood is a great roofing choice, but it will require more maintenance than an asphalt shingle roof. Wood shingles and shakes are typically more expensive to install as well. However, the benefits of wood shingles still make them a popular choice -- especially for historic homes.
The gold standard. Slate roofing is the best roofing material available, but installation is pricey.
When it comes to roofing materials, nothing beats slate. Slate shingles are slivers of rock that are cut in the shape of shingles and installed as the roofing material. Slate is a versatile material that has unmatched appearance and durability, making it a fantastic choice for any home.
However, slate roofs are very expensive and very heavy, sometimes requiring additional work to the structure before installation. Slate can be difficult to work with as well, meaning an experienced and skilled contractor is a necessity. If you're interested in slate roofing, the experts at Millstream Construction can help you find the best solution and give you a high-quality installation.
Choosing the right roofing material is essential if you are considering replacing your roof, and we can help you find the best option for your home. We provide high-quality materials and expert installation, and you can count on receiving a beautiful, durable roof.
